Movie Review: This Is The End

Image from here.
Nothing ruins a party like the end of the world.

Ever since I saw the trailer, I have been looking forward to watching this movie. Friends Seth Rogen, Jay Bruchel (the Sorcerer's Apprentice guy), Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson (The Office), and Danny McBride are all at James Franco's house partying with other celebrities when the end of the world begins. It's crazy and it's hilarious. One of the best things about this movie is that they are portraying none other than themselves, so it's really funny watching them deal with insane situations as strangely and awkwardly as they probably would in real life.

The Apocalypse: What a party pooper.

It's all very fun to watch, though at some times, you would stop and ask yourself what they hell you are watching. It's no Hollywood blockbuster so don't expect to see stellar special effects, but you can expect to have a good time, if you can stomach dark and occasionally very dark humor. This is one of the funniest movies I have seen in the past year, which unfortunately isn't saying much. More good comedy films, please!

Other Notable Cast:
Michael Cera as Michael Cera
Emma Watson as Emma Watson
Rihanna as Rihanna
Jason Segel as Jason Segel
Paul Rudd as Paul Rudd
Mindy Kaling as Mindy Kaling
Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Christopher Mintz-Plasse
Aziz Anzari as Aziz Anzari

Verdict: 3.5/5 - The apocalypse has never been this fun to watch. Brilliant and fun idea of a film.
